I am Zachary Walsh and I am an aspiring mechanical engineer. I aim to combine my passion for golf with my love for the manufacturing process. I am currently working on my MBA at the University of Nevada, Reno, and will graduate December 2016.
I currently work with the Joe Crowley Student Union as a graduate assistant compiling data including traffic counts, demographic information, and student disciplinary tracking. In addition to this, I also have led the effort to staff a new University building, the Pennington Student Achievement Center.
I have always been fascinated with the production of innovative products. Throughout my undergraduate career as a mechanical engineering student, I created products including a hovercraft and a cooler which uses the rotation of the internal ice water to chill beverages 3x as quickly as standard coolers. Combining this knowledge with the business savvy that I have learned throughout the MBA program, I am able to finance a product, push it through construction, and take it into the market.
Outside of the production process, my second greatest passion is golf. I began playing in high school and fell in love with the sport instantly. The focus and practice required to succeed in golf has taught me lessons that apply to my life, and I believe it has made me a harder working individual.
My background and skills have led me to where I am today, and I am ready to take the next step in my life. Through hard work and focus, I am able to reach any goals I set for myself, and I plan to push myself as far as possible to continue my successes.
